Where You Want to Go For Your Higher Studies?
You have to choose the country for your higher studies wisely. To select a country, you have to ask yourself – where you want to go? If you are a travel person, then Europe is the best choice. If you want to have world class education with more opportunities then USA, Australia, Canada is the best choice. You also have to consider your budget while selecting a country. It’s typically expensive in
USA, CANADA or Australia than most of the European countries. Let’s talk about USA today. Here you will find all detailed information regarding the whole application process to apply in USA.
Where?
Where you can find the university to choose?
You can search on Google by typing ‘Top ranked universities in USA’,
Universities in Texas/ any state you want to choose’ or you can search by the university
name if you already know the name. You can search in here best college and
university list Best National University Rankings. In that website you can search by the state you want to go. Just filter the search with your choice and search for it. Then you can take a look all the
universities from there. You will see the ranking and cost for the universities in there.
It’s better to choose R1 universities than R2 for USA. R1 universities are the
forefront of innovation and research, and they receive federal and private funding specifically for their academic research. Well, now you have university names
in your list, let’s go to the next things.
Which?
Which program to choose?
For USA it’s better to go for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, And Mathematics) subjects. STEM subjects comes with 3 years of OPT. (Optional
Practical Training) after the graduation. And STEM subjects has higher demands in job market in USA. Also you have to consider your career goal and previous qualifications while choosing the subject. Non STEM subjects comes with 1 year
OPT. after graduation. You can easily find the subjects on university websites. Go to any university website then go to international students then academics then Undergraduate or Graduate program/courses. requirements for the program on that page as well. If you have your desire subject, now let’s move to the next phase.
When?
When you should start applying?
There are three intakes/ sessions / semesters in USA. They are Spring- January, Summer-May, Fall- September. But they accepts or give admissions to huge number of students on Fall- September intake. Most of the US universities doesn’t accept international students or on campus students for summer. Some universities take students for Spring intake as well. If you have all the required
things/ documents in your hand and you are ready to apply, then go for upcoming intake. As you will need a visa then it’s better to have a 5-6 months gap in your hand while applying for the upcoming intake.
It’s better to apply in October for the next years Fall intake. So you can avail scholarships or Graduate Assistantship (GA) or Teaching Assistantship (TA). Suppose you want to apply for Fall- 2025 , so it’s better to start applying in October- 2024. If you want to apply for Spring- 2025, start applying from June 2024. Try to apply on the first round of application for upcoming intakes. If you have already choose intake you want to apply then move to the next part.

How?
How to apply for the program?
Here comes the most important and critical part of the application process for USA universities. Most of us find it hard to apply for universities and afraid about it as well. So, here we are to help you with the process of the application. To start your application you need to go through some process one by one.
1st- Go to the university website then go to the admission page, then go to international student, then apply now and there you can see create account or login. You have to click on create account and follow the instructions. Here is a link where you can find the page to create a profile to
apply in University of California, Riverside.
2nd- You have to create your profile there and activate it with your Gmail. It’s better to use your personal Gmail address which you use daily. And try to use a clean and good named Gmail address.
3rd- You have to login to that portal of your profile and fill-up all the necessary information with updated and correct data.
4th- You have to upload the necessary documents for your application on that portal. Try to upload the documents in PDF. version. Also name the documents according to the document specifications.
5th- You have to fill-up your recommendation persons details carefully. Always go with waives the access to view while filling out the recommenders profile. After finishing that page of recommenders. A mail will be sent to your provided e-mail address of your recommenders. Typically 2 recommendation are needed for any applications. Try to give a professor recommendation and an employer recommendation if you are currently working.
6th- You have to sign electrically with your full name on the final page of your application portal and then you have to click on submit. Before submitting the application, try to review your whole profile and details couple of times.
7th- Finally after submitting your application, you have to pay the application fee on the portal to let your application to go into review. If you have any application fee waiver code, you can put it while submitting your application or you can ask the international admission office to use your application fee waiver if you have it already.
There is one more thing after submitting your application. You have to send your academic transcripts and certificates, IELTS/PTE or other English language proficiency test result, GRE/GMAT copy directly to your desire university from your previous institution/ university/ college by mail ( DHL,
FedEx) or postal service or by electronic mail from your previous institution register office. This kind of documents are called official copy of your certificate of academic transcripts. Many universities of USA doesn’t require official document initially. Many universities accepts your unofficial uploaded document in the application portal.
And now you will wait to hear from your university about your application update. They will email you if you need to submit any more documents/ if you need to give any interview. You can check your application update on application portal. Check your Gmail daily for the update and the spam
folder as well. It takes minimum 2 weeks to 4 weeks to get the decision of your application.

What are needed to get admission in USA Universities?
For Undergraduate Admission:
- Passport That Has Minimum 6 Months of Validity.
- Recent School and College certificates and Academic Transcripts.
- English Proficiency Test Score Dated Less Than 2 Years Old.
- SAT score.
- Motivational letter or Statement of Purpose (SOP).
- Essay (if required)
- Recommendation letters.
- Updated Standard Resume or CV.
- Extra Curriculum Activities Certificates (if any)
- Bank Statement and Solvency Certificate of your sponsor for past 6 months according to the requirements of university you are applying.
For Graduate/PHD Admission:

What You Have to Do After Getting Your Admission Decision?
After getting a positive decision from your desire universities, in some university
you have to accept the offer. Then you have to go for the next step to get your “I-
20” from the university. It is the main form that you need while applying for your
F-1 visa. The university will contact you with the required information that – “How
you can get the I-20?”. You have to submit your updated bank statement and bank solvency as a supporting financial document for your higher studies expenses. The university will guide you to fill up the I-20 form. You have to upload sponsor documents or you have to email it to your university. After submitting the I-20 request form, it can take 3 days to 3 weeks to get your I-20 from the university. After getting your I-20, you have to apply for USA visa.

IELTS

Is IELTS or Any Other English Language Test Score Required for Admission?
For undergraduate program it might be mandatory most of the time. But, for Graduate/ PHD program- No, It’s not mandatory to have English language test score for your admission. You can easily get admission with Medium of Instruction (MOI) in English to most of the universities. Even, you can get IELTS waiver by giving interview to the universities.
Is It Possible to Get Application Fee Waivers?
Yes, It’s possible to get application fee waiver from most of the universities.
Is It Necessary to Have Work Experience?
No. It’s not mandatory. But, If the university requires work experience for your
desired program then you will need it. In some program the work experiences can
give you extra benefit to get admitted.
Is It Necessary to have Extra Curriculum Activities?
No, It’s not mandatory. But it can help you to get scholarship or cover up for your
low CGPA.
Which CGPA Score You Need to Have to Get Admission?
For Graduate/PHD- If you have a CGPA of 3.00 out of 4.00 then you are on the
safe side. You will have higher chances to get admission. For Undergraduate- GPA 8.00 out of 10.00 can keep you on the safe side.
Is There Any Central Application Portal?
Yes, There is a central application portal which is- “Common Application” . It’s basically for undergraduate students.
There is another central application portal for Texas State Universities. Which is
Apply Texas.
How Much It Costs for Application?
It can cost you $50 to $100 for each application.
Is It Mandatory to Do Educational Credential Assessment (ECA)?
If the university ask you to submit then it’s necessary. Most of the university don’t
ask for it. You will get to know about it on their program qualifications
requirement page.
If you do some research by your own. You can easily apply to USA universities by
your-self.
